Why choose artificial synthetic grass for sports fields?

It has become a common trend to use synthetic turf and artificial grass for sports. This new phenomena is in line with today’s schools, colleges, universities and even professional training centers and sports stadiums.

Artificial grass is eco-friendly and very safe for the players and the environment. An artificial turf can be a real savior when the environment is particularly hostile to natural grass. An arid environment is a surface devoid of water or where the weather conditions are unviable for growing natural grass. This arid surface is perfect for artificial synthetic grass.

Artificial turf is more durable and lasting than natural grass and can therefore be used much more frequently and for a much longer time frame. This assists sports-ground owners to generate more income from their facilities.

Usually, an artificial turf pitch, which uses fake grass can last up to ten years, if well maintained. The field turfs are highly resilient and protects from ultra violet rays. Their proven durability, strength and tenacity add to its already magnificent aesthetics.

The synthetic grass manufacturers have to focus on developing, manufacturing and marketing sport surfaces from the beginning of foundation. The synthetic turfs are widely accepted by both local and international markets.

There is an ongoing debate between artificial turf and natural grass for the last decade, with arguments flying back and forth about the environment friendliness of the artificial or synthetic grass.

In Europe, artificial grass has become a popular option in sports stadium especially in chilly winters. However, in areas like California in US, the use of natural grass still prevails.

It also depends on the kind of sport that is being played on the natural grass or artificial turf.  No one can argue that artificial grass is hassle free, eco friendly, easy to maintain and perfect for stadiums where a lot of sports are played.

I JUST READ THE ARTICLE REGARDING SYNTHETIC TURF AND ARTIFICIAL TURF AND I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR MORE ON WHO HAS A ECO-FRIENDLY TURF PRODUCT? ALL I HAVE SEEN IS SYNTHETIC FIELDS WITH LOW DENSITY FIBER FILLED WITH SAND AND CRUMB RUBBER TO FILL IN ALL THE VOIDS. THE LAST I REMEMBER IS THAT SAND AND CRUMB RUBBER WERE NOT ECO-FRIENDLY BUT THE MARKETING PLOY THAT ALL THOSE SYNTHETIC TURF COMPANIES BULLSHIT THE CONSUMER TO GET A CHECK. HOW MANY COMPANIES ACTUALLY PROVIDE A TRULY 100% RECYCLABLE PRODUCT? URETHANE BACKING IS NOT RECYCLABLE, POLYETHYLENE IS BUT A LOT OF COMPANIES USE POLYETHYLENE STRAIGHT FIBER WITH A NYLON THATCH AND THE LAST I REMEMBER NYLON WAS NOT RECYCLABLE. CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG BUT WHEN I SEE ECO-FRIENDLY WITH GARBAGE PRODUCTS AND NOW GREEN RUBBER INFILL CALLED ECO-FILL THAT IS A BUNCH OF BULLSHIT. THERE IS ACTUALLY ONE COMPANY OUT THERE THAT PROMOTES FLEX SAND AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW YOU CAN TAKE SILICA SAND AND PUT RUBBER AROUND IT? THE RUBBER IS NOT RECYCLABLE AND THE SILICA SAND HAS TOXICS THAT RELEASE INTO THE AIR AS WE HAVE ALL HEARD ABOUT SILICA DUST. SO THEREFORE AGAIN JUST ANOTHER UN-PROVEN PRODUCT BEING MARKETED TO THE CONSUMER AS A GREAT ALTERNATIVE. NOT A CHANCE JUST MORE OF THE SAME. WHO EVER SAID THAT THE 2 1/2″ 32 OUNCE SLIT FILM FIBER FILLED WITH SAND AND GROUND UP TIRES IS A PROVEN SYSTEM? NO ONE IT IS JUST ACCEPTED.

Not only is artificial grass becoming more popular on sports fields but since artificial grass now looks more natural, many homeowners are considering it for use as their lawns.
